The Euro 2024 finals

With 24 Euro 2024 qualifiers taking part, there are six groups of four teams, decided on a combination of seedings and the glitzy Euro 2024 draw which took place in Hamburg on Saturday 2nd December 2023. And the draw threw up some delicious looking groups, as follows:

The top two teams of each group will automatically qualify, with the team finishing in first getting a favourable draw for the Round of 16. In addition, the four best third-place finishers will also proceed to the knockout stage. These teams will be decided by the number of points, followed by goal difference and then goals scored. 

That means 16 teams progress to the aptly-named Round of 16, with then teams progressing through the knockout phase all the way to the final. 

Euro 2024 playoffs

Before the finals commences on 14th June, there are still three places to be decided. 12 teams will battle it out across three playoff pathway groups, with the winner of each pathway getting through to the Finals proper. Here are the details of the playoff pathways:

In each pathway, two one-legged semi-finals will be followed by a one-legged final to decide which team books its place in Germany.

Play-offs

There are still three teams who must be added to the mix of the Euro 2024 group stages. Those three teams will be decided through three play-off paths taking place in March, as follows:

Group stages

36 matches to be played from 14th June to 26th June. Kick-off times are 15:00, 18:00 and 21:00 GMT.

Round of 16

Eight matches to be played from 29th June to 2nd July. Kick-off times are 18:00 and 21:00 GMT.

Quarter-finals

Four matches to be played on 5th and 6th July. Kick-off times are 18:00 and 21:00 GMT.

Semi-finals

Two matches to be played on 9th and 10th July. Kick-off times are 21:00 GMT.

Final

Match to be played on 14th July. Kick-off time in Berlin is 21:00 GMT.
