Conclusion

A bit of a mixed bag here. The options to bet on are impressive, but the support isn’t quite there yet.

Silverplay, as the logo and homepage reveal, is another example of a casino site that has jumped on the sports betting bandwagon. That’s not a criticism, because it’s always good to have more options for your sports betting choices, but the reality is that many of these new betting sites simply don’t have the breadth of coverage or support functions and features that the big boys of the industry have.

But this is no reason to turn your nose up at Silverplay or indeed any of the other new kids on the block. For a start, the Silbverplay site looks really good and has tons and tons of options, particularly on Esports and virtuals. That’s definitely a bonus of these books that start out as casinos – they have the expertise and nous to bring a great variety of Esports and virtuals to the table.

As well as a great variety of sports, which includes football, horse racing, greyhounds, rugby, tennis and all the other usual favourites, there are plenty of market options on the big worldwide sports of football, tennis and basketball. However, scratch below the surface of some of the other sports and the market breadth just isn’t there.

The promotions on Silverplay look good but beware of stringent turnover requirements. This is always a frustration for us, so Silverplay definitely loses a couple of points here. As they do for the relatively sparse FAQ section and lack of phone number. But the payment options are nice and varied, and there are solid features here including cash out, bet builder for soccer and a stats/results service for football, tennis and basketball.

So, the biggest question we always ask ourselves is this: Would Silverplay convince us to abandon our usual, go-to betting sites? Well, the answer is probably “no”. By all means, it’s worth having a look around, and no doubt you will find some competitive odds here from time to time. But there’s not much else to truly convince us. It all looks very nice, though.

As we have kind of come to expect with newer sites, the market coverage at this sports betting site will of course depend on the sport you are diving into. Expect great coverage on football, pretty good coverage on tennis and basketball, and then only fair-to-middling coverage on pretty much everything else.

On football, including on live betting, there is a tremendous choice, including, but not limited to:

There are more than 150 markets on the biggest football events, and you can build your own bet too, increasing the choice. However, we couldn’t find any player markets. There were specials, though, although we didn’t really consider them to be particularly special.

Tennis is similarly well-stacked, but also not particularly innovative. The odds are competitive, however.

On lesser sports (in terms of popularity) you will find fewer markets. On some events, you might struggle to find more than the match result market. It’s not particularly ground-breaking if we’re being critical.
